How to get fuel

The division provides fuel cards for all vehicles.  The driver must use one of the provided fuel cards to obtain fuel.  Failure to use one of the provided fuel cards will result in the driver having to pay for the fuel out of pocket.

The division utilizes three fuel providers: NDOT, Fleetwide and Clean Energy.  For a directory of locations, please refer to the fueling locations page.

  • It is mandatory for the driver to enter the correct odometer reading when purchasing fuel.
  • Fuel cards are assigned to a specific vehicle, interchanging fuel cards among vehicles is prohibited.
  • Unauthorized use of fuel cards will result in the using agency being billed for the unauthorized fuel charges.

The Fleet Services Division supplies fuel cards for our agency owned vehicles that we lease out to other agencies. Your agency will be responsible for acquiring your own fuel cards for agency owned vehicles through the Purchasing Division’s statewide contract through Pilot Thomas. As far as the NDOT fuel cards, you will have to contact them directly as well.
